Our state-of-the-art Physics laboratory is equipped with modern equipments to help the students learn the concepts of Physics with experiments. It is designed to give practice of taking measurements, analyzing data and drawing inferences while the students experiment.
Our students get a virtual experience of experiments on the Educomp smart board and the crocodile physics which they thoroughly enjoy. Although the front of the room is fitted with blackboards and Educomp Smart board and a large demonstration table, the students spend most of their time at their lab tables performing their own experiments. There’s a computer in the lab for the students to reach for data collection and analysis. There is ample space in the middle of the room for large scale experiments. The lab is very well equipped with instruments, like- meter bridges, battery eliminators, potentiometers, Hooke’s apparatus, etc. One can also observe the resonance condition that so often proves attractive and interactive. The pin-boards on each wall are decorated with very suitable charts, maps, illustrations and quotes and at the same time various models, made by the students, are exhibited all around the lab. One just cannot resist loving both the lab and the subject as the aura of Physics seems to besiege the invader.

The Chemistry Laboratory provides a platform for students to nurture the budding scientist within them. The laboratory is furnished with latest hi-tech interactive smart boards for a virtual real life learning experience.
Senior students are able to make dyes from chemicals, make perfume, make colouring pigments etc. They also conduct study like level of alcohol in cold drinks, presence of adulterants in different fruits vegetables and food items.
A small room is attached to the lab that serves as a store room for the chemicals and salts. The strong acids are kept under lock and key so that they are not accessible easily.
The Lab is provided with the state- of- the art devices like- Fume hood, Distillation unit, Electronic weighing machine, Bunsen burners, beakers and flasks. Concealed gas line and the safety devices such as Firefighting equipment, First- Aid Kit etc. The acids and other reactive chemicals are stored in separate locked cupboards as a further precautionary measure. The students are provided with separate workstations with individual burners and plug points. The apparatus includes the common place strikers, mortar and pestle, clay triangles, watch glasses, crucibles, crucible tongs, chemical spoon, stirring rods, filter funnels and a variety of stoppers.
Touch Wood School vaunts an intricately designed Biology Laboratory planned to meet the demands of the advancement in science and technology. The marble worktops are heat resistant and storage cabinets are easily accessible. The laboratory apparatus ranges from simple slides, test-tube, petridishes to the composite microscopes of varying powers to observe samples and organisms closely. They are high-powered, extremely expensive, and sensitive pieces of equipments that can make even the smallest part of a single cell seem clear. All the microscopes with digital eyepieces and built in cameras are a great way to preview live colour digital images directly from microscope to the computer via a USB port. Besides the aforesaid the laboratory also has charts, models and specimens meant for demonstrations. The interactive board connected to a computer system and projector makes the biology lessons more effective and interesting. The exhaust system efficiently sustains a comfortable environment in the room even while performing experiments requiring chemicals that let out fumes.
